Ahmed Hamed presents tonight & NPPAOU magazine editing tomorrow
Hi everyone,
We hope you enjoyed Ryan Valasek’s presentation last week! If you missed it or want to go back to watch again, here is a link to the Microsoft Teams recording. Ryan asked that we share his contact information with everyone so that you can all reach out to him and stay in touch. His email is ryan@ryanvalasek.com, Instagram is @snackfarmer and his website is www.ryanvalasek.com.
Tonight, Tuesday, April 18, the Ohio University Society of Professional Journalists is hosting Ahmed Hamed for an in-person presentation at 6 p.m. in RTV 462/464, and they’d love for us NPPAOU folks to join! Ahmed, a member of NPPAOU, is a communication and development studies graduate student here at Ohio University and runs the @Athens_Lens Instagram account where he publishes photo stories about the city with a focus on preserving heritage.
At tomorrow’s NPPAOU meeting on Wednesday, April 19, we will be hosting a collaborative editing session for this year’s magazine. If you submitted images, please come hang out and help us select the images that will end up in the print magazine! For inspiration, look at our last two years of magazines to see how we have edited and designed in the past — here’s a link to our 2021-2022 Magazine: As One and our 2020-2021 Magazine: From Home.
Congratulations to Erica, Morgan and Joe for being among this year’s NPPF scholarship awardees!!! Learn more about the NPPF scholarships and see their photo galleries on nppf.org.
As always, please submit your images here to be featured in next week’s newsletter and on our Instagram. The images should include captions, a filename with your first and last name, and align with the NPPA Code of Ethics we always hold ourselves to as a professional organization. Feel free to submit images to this week’s folder! We’re looking forward to seeing your pictures!!!
